You’re three steps from dictating

Here’s exactly what happens after you download — including the two permission prompts macOS will show you, and why.

Install

Open Saykeep.dmg and drag Saykeep into Applications. The app is signed and notarized by Apple, so it opens without security warnings.

Two permissions — here’s why

On first launch, macOS will ask for:

Microphone — so dictation and your side of meetings can be heard.
System Audio Recording — so the other side of a meeting (the audio your Mac plays) can be captured without a bot joining the call.

Both are processed on this Mac and nowhere else. Your audio is never uploaded — the complete list of every connection Saykeep can make is published in NETWORK.md, and you can verify it with Little Snitch. The built-in setup guide walks you through both prompts with pictures.

First run downloads the speech models

One time, with a progress bar: Saykeep fetches its speech models (a few gigabytes, from Hugging Face — listed in NETWORK.md). After that, with summaries on the default local endpoint: zero connections during normal use.
